CityBlue Hotels Appoints Vernon Page as COO

Industry Veteran Vernon Page to join CityBlue team after 22 years of Pan-Africa and International Experience

Lome, Togo. 20th June 2016: Following hot on the heels of announcing the opening of their fifth property, CityBlue Kiriri Garden Hotel & Suite Bujumbura, Burundi, CityBlue hotels founder and CEO Jameel Verjee made a second announcement during the African Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF) to welcome new COO to the team, Vernon Page.

Mr. Page, a South African national, began his career in hospitality as a Financial Controller almost three decades ago with Holiday Inn, followed by appointments with Sun International, before moving to become Director of Finance with the Sheraton Pretoria. He then became Finance Manager for a five hotel chain in South Africa before making his way to Europe to take over the reigns as Chief Financial Officer of a major Real Estate developer handling not only hotels but also shopping malls, residential, offices and F&B outlets. He then spent the next four years working with a two funds  in the Middle East and Africa before moving into an operational position in Lagos, Nigeria, where he was to spend the next three years establishing with his partners Hotel Partners Africa as their CEO.

Mr. Page, who will initially be overseeing operations for Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda, and will be based out of the CityBlue office In Uganda, noted "Having watched the impressive growth of CityBlue from afar since 2013 and now having been working with the team since March 2016, there is no doubt of the tremendous scope for its growth across East and West Africa and I look forward to helping Jameel and the team fulfil the long-term vision of the Group"
