Vice Chairperson, Rwanda Private Sector Federation
Francine Uwera has gained significant expertise in developing and implementing investment project, corporate strategies and has played key strategic roles in implementing several economic development projects be in tourism and creative industry of Rwanda.
Francine is currently vice chairperson of Rwanda’s Private Sector Federation which is a professional organization, dedicated to promote and represent the interests of the Rwandan business community. It is an umbrella organization that groups ten professional chambers.
Prior to the vice chairperson position, Francine has been very active as vice chairperson of the Tourism Chamber for a long period thus contributing to the country’s economic development. Tourism is the leading foreign exchange earner of the country since 2007 and among the top five sectors that create jobs and attract investment in Rwanda.
She has lived throughout Africa, and traveled several times to Europe, Asia and the United States. Francine has served in different advisory positions, where she is serving as board member of the Aviation, Travel and Logistics Limited (ATL Ltd). ATL is a holding company that manages aviation activities including travel, logistics, ground, freight and cargo handling, and charter services in Rwanda. ATL has five subsidiary companies which include RwandAir, the National Logistic Company; Hospitality and Travel Management Limited, the Rwanda Airports Management Limited, and Akagera Aviation.
She serves as active member of committees representing the Private Sector of Rwanda at different forums discussing economic development, regional integration and gender matters. Francine holds a Bachelor Degree in Law studies from the Kigali Independent University. She is fluent in English, French, and Kinyarwanda.
